Maison Giambagli ‘Côté Aix’ Organic

This is a new wine at Majestic, one I picked out at their last press tasting. I wanted to try it again in a less rushed setting.

From AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence in Provence, France, Côté Aix is a new brand exclusive to Majestic. It is supplied by Maison Giambagli, founded in 1925 and now guided by Bordeaux-trained oenologist Onur Yildizli. The blend is 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache. This is the 2025 vintage, at 12.5% ABV.

It is a very pale salmon colour in the glass, with strawberry, redcurrant, pink grapefruit and white flowers coming through with the aroma. Red fruit takes centre stage when tasted. It is dry, not too sweet, but still generously fruity. There is more mouth feel than you find in the average Provence rosé, which makes it feel like a properly gastronomic wine.

This was the standard bottle size, but there is also a magnum available, which adds a bit of novelty and would look great at a gathering.
