Roche Lacour Crémant de Limoux

Posted by

This sparkling wine captures the essence of the South of France, specifically from beneath the hills of Limoux. It is made from a blend of 60% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir and 20% Chenin Blanc and is 12.5% ABV. This 2020 vintage heralds the return of Laurent Mingaud, its original winemaker, who brings his expertise back to this celebrated sparkling.

One of the key aspects of the Roche Lacour Crémant de Limoux is its production method, which mirrors the meticulous process used for Grande Marque Champagne. This includes fermenting nearly half of the blend in oak, contributing to the wine’s distinctive character.

The wine has vibrant, sparkling bubbles and presents a light gold colour. On the nose, it start with an initial aroma of pear. The taste begins with the flavours of biscuit and lemon, gradually transitioning to pear. This progression of tastes, combined with its lighter body, makes the Roche Lacour Crémant an ideal choice for sunny days, embodying the lightness of the warmer seasons.

Roche Lacour Crémant de Limoux is Laithwaites’ best-selling sparkling wine. Also, for environmental sustainability, the wine has recently been transitioned to a new bottle design that is 9% lighter in weight than its predecessor, reflecting a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. Laithwaites is among the top ten retailers that have committed to the ‘SWR Bottle Weight Accord‘. Available at £13.99 per bottle when purchasing six or more.
